The Five Islands have carried out many Thai Weddings; the location is perfect for such a beautiful event. The monks are local monks, often to be seen in the early hours of the morning walking through the village taking alms.
A Buddhist Wedding is a very touching event, serene & enchanting, that those present will never forget. Monks are in attendance to perform a ceremony & the blessings.
For most people a Buddhist Wedding, is unfamiliar. To make sure that you are relaxed & comfortable about the ceremony, we will meet you some days ahead of the event, to chat through the day, explaining the details, & the do’s & don’ts, answering any questions that you may have.
The first part of our traditional Thai wedding takes place at 11am, when monks from the nearby Buddhist Wat, or temple, will come to The Five Islands. The bride & groom together with a small group of close friends or family will take part in the ceremony in the morning.
The monks will pray, chant & then bless the bride & groom. In keeping with Buddhist tradition, they will tie symbolic “binding” string around your wrists, linking your destinies.
Atmospheric exotic flowers, candles, and incense & chanting monks create an unforgettable ceremony.
This part of the ceremony ends with the happy couple offering thanks back to the monks.
The second part of your wedding ceremony will be in the late afternoon where, if you choose to, you will make your vows with each other, sign your wedding papers, & exchange your wedding rings.
Finally, time to relax, & celebrate your wedding commitment, in whatever your preferred style, maybe some music, & enjoy your fabulous wedding dinner with your loved ones.
